Schoop’s Burgers Named One of USA Today’s Best Regional Fast Foods, Competing for # 1 | Northwest Indiana Business Titles


Schoop’s Hamburgers – the iconic 1950s burger chain that specializes in crispy, crispy burgers from Northwest Indiana – was named one of the restaurants serving the best regional fast food by USA Today.

Schoop’s is now in competition to be crowned best regional fast food in the USA Today 10Best Reader’s Choice 2021 competition.

It is based on popular vote and Schoop’s is currently third of 19 finalists, behind only Pal’s Sudden Service and Sheetz.

“Residents of the Calumet area of ​​Indiana, southeast of Chicago, have enjoyed Schoop’s burgers since 1948,” USA Today said. “The menu includes fresh, never-frozen patties cooked to order on a grill and served on a toast with fries, onion rings and classic soda drinks.”

Schoop’s is part of an illustrious USA Today 10Best Reader’s Choice 2021 contest. Other finalists include cult favorites In-N-Out Burger, Whataburger, Culver’s, Bojangle’s famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits, Krystal, Runza and Skyline Chili .

The vintage burger restaurant that serves regional-style burgers with an oversized patty coming out of the bun also faces Habit Burger, Cook Out, Biscuitville, Blake’s Lotaburger, PDQ, Hattie B’s Hot Chicken, Quaker Steak & Lube, Golden Krust and that of Zippy.

The finalists were selected by a panel of experts of gastronomic and tourism writers.
