That’s except May 28, when National Burger Day shines the spotlight on the beef patty on a bun in its most glorious incarnations. With Houston’s top-tier restaurants pulling the stops for some truly decadent burgers, these high-end burgers are guaranteed to tempt your taste buds and challenge your financial sensitivities.
Houston burger for $ 1,600? This is nothing compared to the ridiculously sublime offering at Fleur Las Vegas Restaurant at the Mandalay Bay Resort Grand. The Flower Burger 5000, the creation of the French chef Hubert Keller, will cost $ 5,000 at a dinner.
But it is not the Waygu beef, the pavé de foie gras or the ample stratification of black truffles that pull the coast through the stratosphere. It is the bottle of Château Petrus 1995 that accompanies the burger. Houston’s gourmet burgers aren’t that crazy, but they’re very memorable.

Let billionaire hotel mogul Tilman Fertitta have a burger that ranks among the most expensive in Houston. Two restaurants in his chic Post Oak hotel – Artisanal F&B and Flower & Bee – offer the Burger in 24 carat black gold for $ 1,600. The hotel featured the extravagant beef patty on a bun in October 2019 in the posh H Bar, but has since moved its availability to the other two feeders.
The burger, named after the city’s oil industry, consists of a pound of A5 wagyu beef shipped from Japan, seared foie gras patties, black truffles, and truffle aioli. The burger bun is equally decadent, made with caviar and infused with 24k gold. This budget-buster is regularly available, on request
River Oaks District
B&B Butcher & Restaurant
Executive Chef Robert Del Grande created a beauty for Turner’s, the romantic box under The Annie Cafe & Bar on Post Oak Boulevard. But the recent fire in the kitchen exhaust system shut down both restaurants. As a result, the ultra special National Burger Day 24K Tournedos burger will be served this Friday only at Berg Hospitality’s B&B Butcher & Restaurant from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
It’s a dreamy 8-ounce Kobe beef patty topped with seared foie gras, black truffles, raclette cheese and tomato marmalade on a brioche bun wrapped in 24k gold flakes. It will be served with potato peels garnished with crème fraîche and caviar. Result: $ 285.
Who would expect less from Houston the pinnacle of gastronomy than the ultimate truffled cheeseburger. Say hello to Tony’s Wagyu Truffle Cheeseburger. This gourmet treat is made with Wagyu beef, Gruyère cheese, freshly grated Norcia black truffles, black truffle aioli and is served with Kennebec truffle fries.
It’s a burger to be enjoyed with a glass of good Bordeaux or maybe a Malbec while soaking up the sophisticated surroundings of Greenway Plaza. The result: $ 75.
The GJ French Onion Burger was inspired by the restaurant’s classic French onion soup and is made with 44 Farms ground chuck, dipped in caramelized onions, seasoned with Gruyere and topped with horseradish dijonnaise. Add some homemade steak fries and the tab is $ 26.
As Georgia James Executive Chef Greg Peters explains, “French Onion Soup is a great example of good technique and execution. Perfectly caramelized onions and a good veal stock – both of which take time and attention to detail – are what sets our soup apart from the rest.
While soup isn’t on the menu until the weather cools, the burger is a year-round treat.
Mariposa at Neiman Marcus
From the start, Neiman Marcus tickled buyers’ taste buds with offerings with his in-house restaurants, whose names and focus have changed over the decades. In Houston, Mariposa, the chic café on the third floor, offers a delicious cheese burger all year round, a must-try.
The black Angus galette holds its court atop a brioche bun, with sharp cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and the element that turns this burger up – chipotle mayonnaise. Served with a choice of fries, the bacon or avocado burger is $ 20.
The original Ninfa
It’s not what you might expect in the burger world, but it’s sure to be savored The original Ninfa Fajita Burger. How to describe the wonder that is the fajita burger? José R. Ralat was ecstatic in a Texas monthly item last fall. “It’s a mixture of smoked, grilled and minced fajita meat on the outside, stuffed inside a chopped fajita patty.
